Hi everyone, I am new here. My name is Brenda and I am cre8tivemom; I like to do creative activities with my kids from crafts to cooking. I own a cooking blog called Cre8tive Kitchen located here at http://www.cre8tivekitchen.blogspot.com (http://www.cre8tivekitchen.blogspot.com/).
I have 3 kids. Quinn is my son and he is 17 (well he will be 17 on Sunday Sept 21, 2008 so close enough), Nicole is my oldest daughter and she is 9 (almost 10; she will be 10 on Dec 31), and Vanessa is my youngest and she is 3 1/2 (she will be 4 on January 9). It is a challenge having 3 different developmental ages as they have different discipline techniques, different age appropriate activities, and basically everything is different with each age group.
I work part time at Toys R Us and I love working there, it is the most fun job (aside from raising my kids). I have a degree in Business Management and I am also a licensed Pharmacy Technician. Both are not jobs that I liked but I am qualified nonetheless so if I need a backup profession I could at least work in business management or in a pharmacy. I prefer to do what I love and that is retail even though the pay isn't the greatest. But what makes me happy is doing what I love.
I have been married to my husband for 11 years (he is the girls father, my son is from a previous marriage) and he works driving truck working on road construction so he is gone sometimes doing road projects in different areas around the state and some outside WA state. We live in Olympia WA and we love the Great Pacific Northwest!
I am still trying to get around and figure out where everything is so if I do not post for a while it is because I am trying to get acclimated to the site. There is so much information here, it is almost overwhelming. I think that is all I can think of right now. I look forward to making some new friends and getting parenting techniques.

Welcome, Brenda! Glad you're here! If you have any questions, feel free to ask us!! We're all happy to help you and if someone doesn't know the answer, they can usually direct you to the correct place!
I have to tell you - I worked at a retail toy store one season before Christmas and I swore I would never do it again. YOU must be an AMAZING super woman!!!

I'm extremely sorry if I'm wrong, but I can't help but be suspicious.
This person, and LisaG seem very similar. Their sentence and paragraph structure, their advertisements for their websites. I've seen many spam and bots out there and I've kind of got a good eye with these things. Or maybe I'm just a paranoid freak.
Soooooo sorry if I am wrong, which I have no problem admitting when I am. Just curious.

I do not want to tell you that you are wrong, but in the nicest way possible; You are wrong I am not a bot or a spammer and the only time I will mention my site is when I introduced myself, that is it because I do not want to spam it, because it is just a personal blog about what I love to do, that is all. LOL I came here from The Wo Zone (Ronna's page), and I really like this forum and whole site. I am just me Brenda from Olympia WA who is a mom who just happens to love to blog and work in a toy store LOL I do not know this Lisa G and really do not know anyone here, but looking forward to getting to know everyone.
Everyone, Thank you for the warm welcome!

leo-jess, I can easily see why you thought we were the same person, I read her intro and wow too similar and sort of weird for me... it is ok though, I can understand where you came from. I used to be a member of a forum where we had a person posting as 4 different people and we couldn't get rid of them. I assure you I am just me as in one person, just wanting to see this site and what it has to offer. So do not worry there will be no spam from me, I promise!

Belated Welcome!!!
We'll have to swap fun kid craft idea's. My baby is only 5 months old, but I can't wait for her to be old enough to glue macaroni. :ita: I bought a great book of crafts for kids. 500 crafts for kids! Would much rather do arts and crafts than watch TV. :ita:

I have to agree with Lady LaRue about working retail during holiday. The one Christmas I worked at TRU nearly ruined it forever!

I love working the holiday season at TRU, it is so busy and fun! Day after Thanksgiving is a downer for me because I love to be one of those 5 am shoppers and working at TRU, I cannot do that anymore... so I send hubby and he hates it. I just map it out for him and tell him where to go and my oldest babysits while I am at work and hubby is shopping LOL It works... Right now I am on a leave of absence from TRU until hubby gets back from working out of town and I miss it terribly, I am going stir crazy being home. October 19 will be here soon and not too soon, sometimes my kids drive me nuts!! LOL
