Quote of the Day: "The wildest colts make the best horses."

That’s a good thing. She will be less likely to follow the crowd or to get lost in the shuffle. Be heartened that she will make waves in this world instead of drowning in anonymity. I’m a firm believer that being strong-willed is not a bad thing. It takes a pretty strong will to make it in this world. Trust me. If you want your child to grow up and be a leader, a person of influence, you want her to be strong-willed. That does not mean that we wink and smile when our kids misbehave. We show our children what choices they have and what choices they don’t have in this world. And we have firmly established boundaries and consequences in place for the choices that they make. But, we do our best not to take it personally when our children push back against us. Our job, after all, is not to break our child’s spirit. It is to show her how to harness it.

My 7yo is truly a bucking bronco. While he is a handful I find so much Joy in watching him be so free and bold. He does cross lines and every now again I have to reign him in, but watching him is always amazing. He has taught me to let go at times.

My 8 year old is going to be a force when she is older! She is stubborn now and it just keeps getting worse!

But, if we can teach them to use this as a strength as the get older, think how much success will come to her, AJ. People with wild spirits are so much more creative and driven than those who keep everything inside.

I know that she won't be a weak woman who lets others walk over her that is one thing I am certain of!

We have long known that our oldest daughter is a wild spirit. I have always said that I refuse to quash her spirit and I will only ever help her direct that energy in an appropriate direction. Thanks for reinforcing my outlook!
