We often say in our workshops that our belief in ourselves as powerful, competent, valuable people is the most important self-protection tool we have. For ourselves and our children, we want to create experiences that build those positive beliefs, and protect ourselves and our children from experiences that take away from those positive beliefs.

What experiences are your children having that are helping them to believe that they are strong, capable, and important? Are there experiences that are taking away from those beliefs? And how do you show your children that you believe that you are powerful, competent and valuable? Are there things in your life that make doing this hard?

This is really involved.
My children see that I am powerful and competent because no matter what I have to face I just keep going forward. There are always things in life that make this hard in my opinion because Life has a way of always getting in the way.

I believe my children learn from watching me. Without even intending I have shown them that you don't give up you keep trying. You look at situations from all angles because there is always an answer. School has been a great place for my kids to realize just how capable they are. They go there to learn and feel proud of themselves. I love how proud they look when they receive awards for the grades they get. I always hang them on the Kitchen wall.:)
