Quote of the Day: "I discovered I always have choices, and sometimes it’s only a choice of attitude."
— -Judith M. Knowlton, U.S. author
http://www.screamfree.com/resources/partners/template/images/hal_runkel.jpg Hal's Take: Many of us woke up this morning with the intention of making resolutions which are designed to change our lives for the better. Maybe you resolved to lose weight or to keep in touch with family members and friends. Maybe you resolved to organize your home or to manage your temper a little more. I have to be honest with you, I’m generally not a big fan of New Year’s Resolutions. These vague promises tend to excite us only until the novelty wears off and then we find ourselves doing the same things and wallowing in our inability to change the things around us.
But this quote above is something worth examining on this first day of the brand new year. No matter what you face throughout your day, embrace this truth with gusto and you will be amazed at how your life will improve. Your attitude is the one thing that no one can ever take away from you. No one controls it save you and it is the most powerful force in determining the choices you make and the way in which you are perceived.
So, this year, instead of making grand, sweeping gestures of change, resolve to simply live out this simple truth in all that you do. I promise you, it will have profound implications in all of those areas mentioned above if only you’ll let it.
